This past week was a busy one for the College of Business. We had two great events take place: Street Smarts and our RSO Speed Networking! Both of these events allowed students to get a better grasp on what the College of Business can offer students to help them succeed inside and outside the classroom.
Street Smarts is geared towards helping transfer students get accustomed to the College. During our presentation, we give students tips to succeed in their classes, ones that worked for us when we took those same classes. We also point out the various ways that students that get help, whether it be for study help or assistance in finding the right job for them once they graduate. We have so many resources available here and want to make sure none of them go to waste!
RSO Speed Networking was our second event this past week, taking place on Friday. During this event we invited all the Registered Student Organizations (RSO) that are within the College of Business to table. We have our atrium set up like a speed networking event, where students go to each table and speak with the RSOs for a few minutes, allowing them to learn about each of the clubs and organizations they can get involved in. Getting involved in the College is a great way to meet friends and to gain leadership experience if you are not able to get a job. Also, it's a fabulous way to start building your network!
We will be hosting Street Smarts Part 2 later this semester, so if you missed Street Smarts Part 1 be sure to keep your eyes peeled for Part 2!
